@fesshole the terror alert level will never be something comforting lest the Government look complacent or lest we start asking inconvenient questions like where did all our civil liberties go. It's just another day and no-one's going to blow anything up.

@tillybridges In what way is the article transphobic? The position of the charity is reported, the justification for the position is reported, the opposition is reported and the motivation for the opposition including encouragement to trans women wanting to embrace the sport is reported. I'm failing to see a lack of balance or a presence of discriminating bias.

@fesshole This is why you VPN. This is why encrypt, encrypt, encrypt. This is why privacy is important. Do you want unknown people tracking your movements, your downloads, your messages? No? Then oppose Chat Control! Oppose the Online Safety Act! Oppose Wiskonsin's attempt to ban VPNs. Fight for your privacy, your right to do what you like, safe and secure.

@fesshole I have nightmares about this regularly. How many "I've fallen on the train track" dreams I have in a given period is one of the barometers for my mental health.

@MediaActivist Can't help questioning how true this is. The BBC is far from perfect and declining it is true, but despite the whistle blowing from employees about having to report favourably on the Gaza genocide, I wouldn't describe their reporting as such. I almost exclusively listen to BBC news and it is via them that I hear the relentless littany of civillian deaths, hospitals blown up etc during the latest Gaza conflict. It is because of their coverage that I condemn the war.

@fesshole What? It's the house that both of you live in. Just tell him the stuff you would prefer. Make suggestions, ask him what he'd think of x instead of y. Say I'd really like it if it could be this way. If he doesn't like it say, how about we do this bit your way and this bit mine?

@Fragglemuppet I can see what they mean by just do it. Often times, we put up a wall against activities that we think are going to be unpleasant, take more energy than we have or that we just find daunting or that we feel too miserable to do. If only we can break through that deceptive wall, we feel much better for it. So they're encouraging you to have confidence, throw yourself at that wall and see what happens.

@Fragglemuppet So narrow your options and choose the one you'd least rather not do?

@Fragglemuppet yeah that isn't helpful. What about writing in short bursts, giving yourself rewards for writing, writing to music that inspires you, finding someone to buddy with either virtually or in person. They can do their thing, perhaps a task they're putting off and you can do yours. The rewards could be enjoyed with them. What about choosing to write rather than do something else you don't want to do but that isn't essential.

@Fragglemuppet Maybe a better way to express it would be something that boosted your confidence to do it? Give it a try and see what happens? what have you got to lose? What is it that you would like help with?
