Hi! Today I remembered the shock I had when I read “Der Blechtrommel“ by Günter Grass. What a wonderful book and how much I liked the way he describes such terrible topics.

But somehow we find ourselves in the situation of explaining much simpler things to an incredible amount of idiots, (f.i. the Earth is not flat) so I lost all my hope that someone can understand that what the Alt(extreme)-right is doing since some years is exactly what is told in this book.
What it is still not clear to me is if we are leaving a shitty world to future generations, or if they are the ones driving it to a disaster. 🤔 -

The way he describes the subtle oppression exerted by the government, how history can be rewritten, the concept of being always in a militar conflict with another country, and when, despite of all their efforts, it is not enough to keep the people quiet, the horror of the state terrorism.

OK, here goes mine. “Contact” by Carl Sagan. It has the perfect mix of science and tension through all the book. -

And the most famous example of this are the three laws of robotics in Asimov’s books. 🤖

It was my first #SciFi book! After that, I couldn’t stop reading everything that came to my hands about that. From Bradbury to Asimov, or even Huxley, and of course lots of other authors that I cannot remember anymore.
This type of literature in addition to popular books directly or indirectly related to science made possible that I could finally become a scientist. -
