I set up web apps in Linux Mint. It sets up a separate instance and saves separate usernames and passwords.

And yes joined multiple types of instance as well as a few of each.

I still have a#misskey and a #qoto account as well as a #hubzilla

I am on Linkedin, but it's been perfectly useless to me. I've only ever been contacted by people offering jobs I'f never want to do.

I gave a standard answer, but let me throw you a curve ball and raise a philosophical question.

#socialmedia creates an illusion we've got used to; the illusion that we can see the whole picture, or even a balanced sample.

If we're in a waiting room and we overhear a conversation and then the participants move into a room where we can no longer follow it, we lose the thread.

Why did #Facebook and #Twitter pretend they give us the whole picture?

There is a really easy way to navigate that issue. Use a popular #pleroma instance as an alternative server.

This may change, but for now, Pleroma and its branches are far more relaxed about content. Most instances operate a #free for all #moderation #policy

Just be ready for the #firestorm and don't do it if you have a sensitive disposition

Not all clients do that to be fair and it's not much to do with Gargron.

You need a client that follows threads across instances. The two I use do this; #senji on desktop and @apps on Android.

I've more or less stopped using #ios but #metatext used to do the job well when I left the Apple cart.

I think #translation is built into the app or the #software rather than the instance and it's not built into the basic version of #mastodon #iirc

There are many convenient third party routes of course. Eg use a #PWA like #senji with browser translation, or an app like @apps

To be honest, at this point #fedilab has more features than you can shake a stick at, and a lot more than most people use, I suspect :)

You can follow other instances, translate, follow and edit #hashtag lists -- and just the other day they added Lemmy support..

I never used that feature. I never experienced crashes either. Was the crash only happening for users who use the feature?
