Kinetix (kinetix@mycrowd.ca)'s status on Wednesday, 31-May-2023 06:33:00 JST Kinetix @apps I think I need a nap. I'm at 3.21.2, and just seeing that that your fdroid repo bits changed somewhere along the way recently (I think).
Updating to 3.22.0... -

All I have to do is scroll my timeline here. Seems to be pretty frequently.
This may sound silly, but is there some tracking that could be put in a debug build that would log items being processed and what the net displayed results were? -

Please, no, at least not until the base timeline functionality is working solidly.
The timeline presently will sometimes jump backwards on me half preventing me from gettng past a certain spot.
When new posts are loaded in (off screen somewhere) the timeline shifts on me, when it shouldn't move at all - I'm trying to read!
I am really hoping the timeline stability will have huge focus until it's really really solid.
Thanks for listening to me whine. ? -

Kinetix (kinetix@mycrowd.ca)'s status on Tuesday, 28-Feb-2023 02:38:19 JST Kinetix @apps Is it possible to configure the length of link truncating when reading posts? I don't want truncated links at all if they're linked text, and I'd still want to see at least 100 chars worth of a URL to be able to better determine whether I should follow it or not. 3.17. -

Kinetix (kinetix@mycrowd.ca)'s status on Friday, 10-Feb-2023 07:23:54 JST Kinetix @apps Howdy fedilab - Fedilab 3.17.0 here, and this is one of the timeline issues I see regularly. Fedilab sometimes doesn't figure out there's a huge jump in the timeline there and there's no option to load it in. Have to clear out the cache and start from the newest and then work backward to where I was. -

Edit: Changed 'days' to 'work days' -

Sure, I don't mind if misguided people are doing it, that's their perogative. If they're trying to build an audience or something because they have aspiring commercial interests, they can get stuffed just like any other spammy business.
Fortunately the spammy business that spurred my initial thoughts is their own instance, so easy enough to cut out all of their current and any future intended drivel. -

Kinetix (kinetix@mycrowd.ca)'s status on Wednesday, 11-Jan-2023 08:24:09 JST Kinetix @evelyn It's unsolicited commercial 'look at me!', though... They're trying to attract you to their business, which is advertisement, no?
I will be putting a business of mine on the fediverse soon - and I wouldn't dream of mass-following people. Those create notifications for people, which feels about the same as an advertisement that the business exists. "Hey, notice me!" -

Kinetix (kinetix@mycrowd.ca)'s status on Wednesday, 11-Jan-2023 06:49:33 JST Kinetix Hmm... Is a commercial account mass-following people spam?
I kind of get that businesses in the Fedi are going to have to try and figure out ways to fit in here, but it feels like them following hundreds and hundreds of accounts is just spamming to get noticed. -

Kinetix (kinetix@mycrowd.ca)'s status on Friday, 30-Dec-2022 06:05:30 JST Kinetix @apps Heya Tom or Fedilab! I was wondering if I'm supposed to be able to get my bookmarks timeline from my Akkoma/Pleroma instance? I don't seem to have that ability and can't seem to recall if I told Fedilab to get rid of that timeline or not. -

Kinetix (kinetix@mycrowd.ca)'s status on Monday, 19-Dec-2022 11:45:39 JST Kinetix Musk's twatter is hilarious, in that it is essentially a how-to guide on "How not to run shit on the Internet."
However, to anyone saying he's banned mentioning *all* other social media, that's not correct at all. This sort of post shouldn't get filtered (except maybe for the megalomaniac criticism?):
"This tweet should pass muster -> Time to get off of this hellscape and join the Fediverse! It's a much more civilized environment, without a single megalomaniac pushing the control buttons. https://mycrowd.ca is one starting point there."
I suspect it's probably obvious that if enough people were mentioning the Fediverse or any other single website enough to show up on their radar, it'd get added to their banlist, too.
