Do you compare the value of crypto to regular money at the time you're deciding to make a purchase with it? I keep thinking about that guy that bought pizza years ago using bitcoin, and now that amount is like a mini fortune... spent on just pizza. 😳 Of course that was years ago.

It's like when old folks talk about needing only "tatlong bente singko" (3 twenty-fives, i.e. 75 centavos) to make a phone call (on a pay phone). Can't do anything with 3 25s anymore. 😅🇵🇭

But isn't bitcoin value kinda unstable? It seems super risky to non techies like me. And it's still not very mainstream to be useful enough to have, except maybe for those who buy/keep it as an investment.

My boss is into investments including crypto. But I've never heard him talk about spending it. It's really more about investment, even for a techie like him.

Are you able to use crypto much for purchases?

So, you mean there's no easy* way to use Bitcoin for subscription payments? I actually don't see many online vendors taking Bitcoin. Maybe that's why no one's bothered to solve that problem. 🤔 #clueless

No such thing as a free app. I try to steer clear of #subscriptions, so my choices are limited because very few apps give you the option to do a one-time purchase. Not even my favorite #navigation app #MagicEarth. Fortunately, they're only charging a dollar per year. 😄🙏

Yeah, I don't like to leave things plugged in.

Before I go out, I go to the whatchamacallit panel and turn off the switches for the outlets. 🔌 I used to just flip the main switch for everything* before I step out. But now I have a fridge so I only turn off the electrical outlets... in case there was something I forgot to unplug.

When I charge my bikes I have a little fan to help keep the power adapter cool -- it can get quite hot. 🔥

The GCFI outlet in my little bathroom got burnt. Fortunately I saw the smoke and managed to turn it off before things got out of hand. So I guess GCFIs don't protect from burning plugs? 🤷♀️!

Whatever.

Culprit was an el cheapo hairdryer. 🙄 Gonna write #FireHazard on it before I dispose of it lest someone tries to use it. I do label my #trash sometimes. I've left a few items in the refuse room labeled "Not trash. Yours, if you want it."

Wondering if I can replace this myself... or call a pro. 🤔?

I've been mildly successful in keeping pothos alive for months or over a year in water. But they don't grow too well, they never look this awesome. It's more like just surviving instead of thriving.

I don't believe in suffering! 🤪 But I I'll try to go farther than last time. 🤔

The big boys 🚴🚴🚴♀️🚴🚴 are #cycling far again this Saturday. And I'm invited to ride as far as I can go. 🚴♀️ I plan to join for only a couple of hours then I'll head home. Not going all the way. 🏔️🙃 Gotta attend a meeting at 10AM. Honestly I'd rather skip the meeting but it's a once-a-year thing and we're supposed to elect some people. I do try to be a responsible adult, lazy as I am. 🤪

I hope I #sleep plenty on Friday so I can work all night and ride ~4 hours on Saturday morning. 🙏

I underestimated the severity of #Carina. 🌧️🌧️🌧️ I forgot that strong winds and a major rain dump are two different things. I actually stepped out to get supplies. I managed to get back home with no drama.

This is one quiet* #storm. 😳
No crazy strong winds.
No thunder, no lightning.
Just a continuous pour. 🌧️

Definitely not ordering any delivery now that I've seen the road conditions. Everybody should just stay home. Or evacuate if their homes are affected.

We hosted a dinner get-together for a balikbayan schoolmate at a Chinese resto. Lauriat style. 🐷🐮🐔🦆🦐🐟🍜🍵

Now that I think of it...

I don't really need #Strava anymore. 🤔 My #Garmin does a better job of logging* my activities, though the map doesn't hide start & end points. The few people that I follow (and follow me) there are here on #Mastodon or are real life contacts that I'm connected to via #Viber or #Instagram. And I've no interest in following random strangers on Strava, and the challenges aren't really useful to me.

Tho, unlike Instagram, there are no random suggestions*.
