@mcc I quite often look at people filming "the thing happening" on their phones and think "why are you filming this, it is going to roll over you" while not completely appreciating it is going to roll over me having stopped to gawk at the number of people gawking at it.

I just logged into Getty Images for something and it practically attacked me with Ai. "Expand this, remove the background, give us £39 for credits" and the pop up window would *not* go away. I was even filtered for editorial not creative images. Eventually I just reloaded the page, and it was gone. Very very hard sell.

Apparently clicking the X for close in the pop up managed to download three different images of a slice of dessert fraught with ai potential... and not for example to close the window, which would have been my first guess.

What's particularly awful is I was looking for a vintage luggage interiors. Maybe Getty think I'm looking skinny.

See I played Lords of Creation, Man Myth and Magic.. all seemed rulesy but not wargamey. LoC in particular was very theatrical. MM&M was pre-Nephilim in the endless reincarnation. I don't know how early that all was in the scheme of things. @ZDL @Taskerland @zozo

I think by the mid 80s, we'd just drifted that way by default after a slew of experimental and different games, your own house rules blur into just narrativism. The D20 era was what really killed my interest in RPGs though. @ZDL @Taskerland @zozo

Within certain parameters of good. The other option was tuning to Border television or HTV and watching Andie Stewart singing two hours of songs about how shortcake broke his heart*

I remember reading "the long bit" in Rupert Annuals and praying that it was still the school holidays in England and I might catch the last few episodes of "The Flashing Blades"

Once when very very sick, pre streaming my partner and I were trapped with only BBC2 for reception and watched the entirety of "I remember Mama (1948)" too sick to even turn the thing off. To this day we still do lines from that film when times are hard... in particular "we do not have to go to the Bank" in an accent like the swedish chef from the Muppet show.

@malin If you overlaid that onto a texture weave of paper, and toned it with sepia ink and then just varied the density of the ink that would flawlessly look like old manuscript warning of the dangers of a place. It's just exactly like you say, just the Bayeux Tapestry era, but that's perfectly fine. I mean the last frame wouldn't look out of place in the Grail Diary.

I did notice in this thread a lot of people not going "the future was when I got my first colour tv" which was certainly a big shift for me.
