   @Printdevil @jankhambrams In much the same way that imgur was 'lol, cat pics and tits' -> 'this is a picture of my dead cat' and 'trump is bad'

   I get it, I understand it, but now there's no place for the former, and since I kinda didn't ask to be in the latter - it just morphed slowly over time - that's a bit ugh.

     @DarkestKale @Printdevil @jankhambrams yeah, I feel this. I've worked hard to keep my fedi presences pretty well filtered and themed (games 'n' music and lewd stuff), and they're still busy enough, but there's a fair bit of "let me tell you all the ways in which people like you are being oppressed" posting that seeps in.

     @Printdevil @jankhambrams Thing is, early mastodon was kinda 'this is the place to chat games and chillax'.

     So the former turning into the latter is... hard.

     I think it's partially the fact that people are quite genuine and earnest on Mastodon, and there's a fair amount of whiplash from discussing people being victimised and rioting in the streets to "what games are you playing"

     If you don't care about people that's easy. But it is quite hard to turn chatty on and off in the midst of everything going on.
