how does this help, you are just tempting me with more cool pens?!? 😈
I periodically do things like write lying down with the book above my head, so fountain pens will not do me.
I went through a phase of using them exclusively, but I am just too chaotic for them right now, I think. Also the pen lives clamped inside my notebook, shoved into my pocket, which is kind of asking for trouble.
Although... (see?!? foul temptation)
Fineliners good, though (hence the Microns being on my list).
Who wants to see photos of me looking like a complete dork at (I think?) my first pride event after I came out as non-binary?
(Actually as genderqueer as was the style of the time, but we don't talk about that.)
This was 2011, I came out publicly in 2010, and I know that because I recently found copies of an email chain with an incredibly confused but very accommodating person from HR at my work.
You are allowed to be amused at me thinking I could carry off bleach-blond hair. My ex certainly was.
brushing off (and maybe blocking?) sexual assault survivors for asking you to maybe not casually throw "rape" around to describe other things is an incredibly bad look
@neil Oh gods, is that why everyone's referring to Section 28 today?
Fuck's sake. Section 28 was still in force when I spent my one (1) year at a British school, and it was fucking rank.
All the out queer kids were functionally ostracised (at best) for labelling ourselves, and teaching staff - although some were sympathetic and bent rules (this was the late 90s) - were to varying degrees complicit in this.
(I mean, I'd have been ostracised anyway, but I had other, bespoke weird shit going on.)
@quasiabsolut It just makes me cross when I see bits of the metal press being all "she's changing black metal to be more egalitarian", when her idea of that is obviously "more white women".
I mean, she's also a walking bad take machine and her videos all look like tradwife conventions, but that's me being petty, while the swept-under-the-rug racism and making welcome of neo-nazi elements is an actual contribution to the root problems of bm as a subculture.
I was doing a Music Women Wednesday post, and it got detailed into a rant about why Myrkur sucks, so I'm making the rant its own thing so as not to spoil the hashtag.
Myrkur (Amalie Bruun) never apologised after I yelled at her for dropping pics of Varg Vikernes' fashy shit-tier magick books that she bought on Facebook, so fuck her tbh.
I don't care if she's trying to look less edgelordy these days if she's not made a substantive apology.
If Chris fucking Bowes can apologise for racism, so can you. If fucking Watain and Marduk can at least make a half-hearted effort, so can you.
The difference, and I suspect the only reason she's on at Motocultor fest at all, given their usual level of vetting, is that very few people saw her doing the nazi-whistling because no one had heard of her at this point and later deleted the posts.
She has gone on the record being islamophobic, but she wraps it up in a very loud public performance of feminism, which makes it hard to unpick for a lot for people.
Anyway, I do not have the receipts to hand, but know that early in her black metal career, before she started doing whatever the fuck the last album was trying for, Myrkur promoted the fact that she had bought and was reading a bunch of Varg's Norse paganism pamphlets with a wink wink to any white supremacist black metal fans following her, and didn't give a shit when called on it.
(Including by Black black metal fans who were frankly a lot more polite and restrained than I was.)
I've been picking through more of their catalogue as they're playing a fest I'll be at.
It's not all to my taste so far, but I appreciate the audacity of the Max Martin style pop hooks they use a lot of, as in Sweet True Lies, and the cybermetal/throwback europop synth sound in tracks like One Night in Tokyo of the most recent album.
