#fediverse do you know if there is a shared moderation for the fediverse? Let me tldr: - does the protocol support partial federation? (I.e exclude the instances you don't federate with [chain of federation]) - is there a way to share rules (infrigments History of some rules) - a global pool of rules / offenses that is sharable and recognized by many communities ? In order to do grouped rule filtering etc.
Much less stress to play the up to date game. Less worries about stupid hashtags. Content here is a lot more accurate, interesting and human. Since I parked it, it also sent totally bonkers on negativity and harassment so it comforts me to not use it.
@LunaFoxgirlVT@spider623 Yes, that's basically my point. Federation happens at a server to server level, it's basically automation and not very human except in the manual exclusion list.
So I wonder if some "affinity score" or something wouldn't help. Making it generic would also avoid flame-wars between servers but instead focus on being globally good on all fronts.
@LunaFoxgirlVT@spider623 Having the eco-system finding some kind of equilibrium seems like an interesting idea to me. Pretty sure there is already plenty of protocols out there that have something alike that could be included into the fediverse.
@LunaFoxgirlVT I am wondering if the protocol shouldn't have something about instances affinities with other instances.
Not for people obviously, but for instances it would make sense to have other instances tell you their affinity with so and so with an optional comment if possible.
The reasons could be many. - problems like you just mention - problems of federation (noisy traffic) - poor uptime - ...
