@Tattie @geekylou @goatsarah This reminds me of a video analysis of JKR's work (from Shaun..?) where they noticed how actions were seen as justified or cruel depending on what character did them. If a character was considered one of the good ones (like Harry, Ron and Hermione), barely anything they did to others would be portrayed as bad or cruel, and vice versa. If this is not just a book thing but how she genuinely believes the world to be, a bunch of good and evil people, not a world where everyone is capable of doing all kinds of actions.... It makes sense she feels like she is in the right, no matter what she does, and that every cruel action against trans people would be justified and wouldn't actually be considered cruel to begin with, because in her mind, she is inherently good and trans people are inherently bad. And nobody with a clear mind and also be one of the good ones would doubt her, so everyone speaking up against her is clearly rotten as well and pretending not to be, no matter if left or right.

Sirana (sirablopp@eldritch.cafe)'s status on Sunday, 01-Dec-2024 07:36:00 JST Sirana Looks like tech.lgbt is going to be defederated from my instance soon because their admin is a very toxic racist harrassing person. It sucks a lot for all the people on there, both being cut off but at the same time also not knowing if they can expect the mods to have their backs if the users of tech.lgbt might ever have issues with harassment of any kind.
If you are on tech.lgbt please consider switching to an instance where the head of management isn't going to ruin it for everyone. I know there are so so many decent and nice people on this instance, you all deserve better than having one person ruin the fun for everyone.

Meanwhile here in Germany people just automatically get a letter. (And yet some of these folks say "I wanted to go vote, but it's raining outside, so I decided to stay home." :blob_facepalm: ) -

Sirana (sirablopp@eldritch.cafe)'s status on Monday, 06-Nov-2023 20:20:18 JST Sirana DIY elephants, can you help me out? How do I get a screw out that sits really REALLY tight? I want to remove some sort of cup holder thing in the bathroom that was screwed in by previous tenants.
It looks like it hasn't been moved in a century and doesn't want to start with that now. It's also very close to the wall, so it's hard to get a grip to begin with. And it doesn't help it's a slotted-head screw either.
And yes, direction is correct, should be the same as the other two I managed to remove eventually. ;)I have an electric drill but would need to buy the right screwdriver bit first, (and I am not sure it can get close enough to the wall for this.)
Would WD-40 work or just make this screw even more slippery?
