@daisy @futzle It's funny you mention covid, considering how many conventions managed to make their events hybrid or online in 2020 and 2021, thereby way more accessible than they ever have been for people from other countries, people with disabilities or people with a tight schedule.
And then all of the sudden plenty of people organizing events conveniently forget how this was a thing they were able to achieve and went back to in person events.

Where there's a will, there's a way, and many people decided actively against putting in the extra effort. A whole hybrid event might be tough on finances or so, yes, but getting someone on stage via zoom or so for one show shouldn't be that hard in this day and age...
