@distrowatch I don't have FB, but some are saying you can still post DistroWatch links. Is this ban regional?

I do not go on Reddit and I have seen screenshots of this posted all day. It was crossposted everywhere. Good karma-farming for OP.

@lorenzo I don't use Flatpak either (or Apostrophe, though I've tried it and I like it). I don't think you should shame yourself for using the officially distributed version of a package. Ideally, that's a good way to use any package because if there is an issue you don't have to take it up with Debian, you can go straight to the source.

My 250 KB spreadsheet has 9 tabs each with ~1000 entries, over 10 columns, and there are formulae throughout.
My colleague's spreadsheet is 9 MB and is one tab, about 1000 lines with one formulae each, 5 columns.
What's the deal? Well, I changed the formulae and now the file is 54 KB so... math???

My students literally—no joke—leave #ChatGPT open all the time. It is their main page, their homepage, their landing page, their calculator, translator, negotiator, everything-ator. If I asked my students to describe the weather they wouldn't look out the window, they would ask #AI.

@VeryBadLlama I had a friend at university that would occasionally let his dorm room turn into a disaster zone. Unbelievable mess. He also hated taking his meds.
His father would do this to him and then not show up. It worked about 5 times.

@MediaActivist not an expert, but I do use a PineTime. I don't think it is accurate enough for someone in need of medical precision.
Mine generally returns very high results and using gadgetbridge doesn't let me keep a log that I'm aware of.
I would look into one with electrode pads rather than the optical sensor that is on many smart watches.

@ZachWeinersmith there are lots of "false friends" between English and French like "eventually" and "éventuellement" which don't translate exactly while other Anglicisms are becoming common like "réaliser". I would say a common beginner screwup is saying "je suis 40 ans" instead of "j'ai 40 ans" for "I am 40." Followed by things like "je suis sur le bus" instead of "je suis dans le bus" for "I am on the bus."

@Oggie @ZachWeinersmith oh yes, "mon nom est..." will generally be your surname and not your given name as well. I teach in English to French students so I've seen some things. But, all of my studies were focussed on being a French professor. 10 years of French immersion plus 17 years in France and I still make mistakes every day.
