I have been using a #PineTime for about a couple of years now and I love it. My partner is in need of a heart monitor as part of her ongoing quest to manage her very #MECFS -like #LongCovid symptoms, but I'm not convinced the heart monitor on such a smartwatch as I have would provide the accuracy she needs. Anyone aware of any (privacy-respecting #FOSS) heart monitors that also offer reliable accuracy? Have I got it wrong and in fact the PineTime would do the job just fine? #AskFedi

@bbbhltz Thank you, that is pretty much confirming my suspicion. And yay Gadgetbridge!

@MediaActivist not an expert, but I do use a PineTime. I don't think it is accurate enough for someone in need of medical precision.
Mine generally returns very high results and using gadgetbridge doesn't let me keep a log that I'm aware of.
I would look into one with electrode pads rather than the optical sensor that is on many smart watches.

I don't know the exact use case here, or anything about pinetime, but fwiw I have ME/CFS and find my Garmin accurate enough to be informative regards pacing for my illness. Ie for that use at least, electropads aren't necessary
