starting a cleaning service for people with ADHD. I won’t be doing any of the actual cleaning, I’ll just be calling you at random times to tell you I’m on my way to your house and I’ll be there in about 45 minutes
@VeryBadLlama see, the problem is you'll still have to actually show up at least 20% of the time (but also make it truly random, like it could be ten times in a row in theory). Otherwise we tend to learn very fast.
@VeryBadLlama this is a friends sister in a nutshell. Except she also has adhd and when she eventually shows up weeks later, cleaning is amazing. But always late! But mostly almost always never!
"The syndrome we now call ADHD has been described in the medical literature since 1775."
"The World Federation of ADHD International Consensus Statement: 208 Evidence-based conclusions about the disorder" is a scientific review of studies about attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, published in the September 2021 issue of Neuroscience & Biobehavioral Reviews.
It is characterized among other things by e.g. "a greater-than-typical refusal to comply with requests or expectations, as well as extreme efforts to avoid social demands".
@VeryBadLlama I had a friend at university that would occasionally let his dorm room turn into a disaster zone. Unbelievable mess. He also hated taking his meds.
His father would do this to him and then not show up. It worked about 5 times.
