@GossiTheDog Haven't they got anything better to do? Oh wait... if this is distracting them from doing their normal line of bullshit then maybe it is not so bad a thing...
@GossiTheDog I actually blame everything on Bill Gates myself. His was the first really evil squash-everyone-and-take-all-the-money company, the rest have followed the model.
The recent spate of bullshit business models I think is due to the availability of investment apps which give access to the stock markets to people who just don't have a clue; these are the real customers (products) of the all-money grabbers.
@janneke@tusharhero This is great and -- a bit weird? It feels like 'facebook' should be a parameter, and the mechanism should be available for other cases.
@GossiTheDog "Similar with official mobile apps, there's no privacy agreements etc in the app stores as there's no third party tracking."
What? I thought the reason they try to coerce you into using mobile apps is precisely because they (and Google, the NSA, etc) can track you, without needing cookies and thereby side-stepping the law. Don't they all insist on Google Play Services (a binary black box) so that your information can be shared between apps?
@chris No, it doesn't. The 'weakness' is in the protocol. All of ActivityPub is designed around the idea that it is a *broadcast* medium. @mattblaze@evan
@GossiTheDog Ah, I see I misunderstood your question, I thought you were asking, 'Why are JLR taking the lead?' not, 'Why is the JLR lead not working?'
