I love Eurovision, I've watched it every year for as long as I can remember. We've hosted Eurovision parties with bouncy castles.

But they've once again allowed Israel to participate.
I can't separate art from artist when the artist is representing a country and a government that are perpetuating genocide.

Eurovision kicked out Russia for invading Ukraine.
But they won't kick out Israel.

    Hi @3dprinting people.

Can you help, I'm not sure which pressure advance setting will give me the best quality prints based on this calibration pattern?

@badnetmask because I'm not always home.
But yeah, I do VPN back most of the time.
But also I run de-googled android and notification delivery isn't hugely reliable in the past.
    Also I dunno, reasons

Either my search skills are failing me, or the names are too generic, or it can't be done...

Anyone know if you can use #deltaChat for notifications from #homeAssistant?

I'm considering not renewing the VPS that runs a matrix server that I only use for this.

@ian eh, "real" servers aren't that expensive. I've got a couple of VPSs with fast hosts and you can get a very basic one for about £32 a year.

@ChrisWere yeah, it's not a great situation. You can write to your mp and tell them? I'm of the understanding that they mostly hear from people who are transphobic so you'll be helping shift the balance (maybe? Hopefully?)

@ryanc when mine was installed I got as far as the log in / create an account page of the manufacturer (daikin) one option was Facebook.
Why in the fuck would I use a Facebook account to control my house heating?
Tldr, my heat pump does not connect to anything and I have to go into the garage and adjust settings manually.

FT8 is a "weak signal" mode.
But often confused for a "low power" mode.

I was running between 20 and 40 watts at the radio this afternoon (and still not always being heard!)

I wonder what power you use for #FT8 #FT4 and similar?

Can't help feeling uneasy about the new mastodon nonprofit and its board. Posts like this by Eugen don't help that.

Yes, open source developers should be paid properly.
Yes, €60k probably isn't enough for the level of responsibility he has.

Equally, step into the fediverse you've helped create and you'll find many admins/mods paid nothing to admin/mod and many more people asking for relative pennies to survive.

My day job pays less and I feed 5 + 1 cat 🤷

We have the unlucky bonus of being "mastodon.radio" since 2018 and in the past it's been made to clear to other instances that they have to run mastodon to use the name in your domain or the trademark holders will request (legally) that you stop.

If I don't like something with mastodon what can I do?

How far can we stray from "pure" mastodon?
A fork without features we don't like?
A variant that is based on mastodon?
Complete rebrand, new domain, and different software?

@libreoffice why is "tagged PDF" not enabled by default?
It's pretty much the most common accessibility issue with PDFs (not being tagged, that's the issue)

@guysoft @g7vkq the IKEA thing has helpful breakout pads for power and data so you can easily add an esp8266. I use esphome which knows how to talk to both sensors. The co2 is an scd41.
It all sort of shoves into the case with some hot glue.
Sends data to home assistant, both pm25 and co2 plus temperature and humidity.

@guysoft depends what you want it for and where you're getting it from.
If you want reliable and accurate readings I'd suggest looking for something that specifies what sensor it uses and checking that's an actual co2 sensor (not just giving an approximation based on other readings)
If it's just for fun and/or you can confirm it against a known working sensor it's possibly worth a few £

@g7vkq @guysoft I've got a couple of IKEA Vindriktning that I've added an esp8266 and an scd4x co2 sensor to.
So if you're inclined to solder stuff that's an option too.

Bought a cheap co2 monitor off eBay. The screen cover hides four screws, inside it looks suspiciously like there is space for an esp, although it's lacking the components to provide power and data. The pad marked 3v3 is 5v but the one marked vcc is 3.3v so could be tapped.
The temperature and humidity sensors look pretty basic, not 100% on the co2 sensor
There is no fan to draw air into the case
The lithium cell's rating is hidden by the sticky pad.
It doesn't seem to agree with my SCD4x sensor

What happens to your web server when you post a link on mastodon is that every instance goes off to fetch a preview (pleroma) does this too.
