I may order a #Creality Ender V3 system today. Got good information about it, looks like a fantastic entry-level machine. Was even considering a more high end K1 machine.

Was told the Creality slicer was “dogwater” and there was a different free slicer called OrcaSlicer that worked better somehow… #3DPrinting

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas - sure little Jimmy can run over people on a sidewalk (complete with screaming blood smears) or machine gun a crowd. But there’s a (removed) consensual sex minigame (“Hot coffee”) left in code on a MA rated game?!?!

@thomasfuchs I mean, it captured people’s attention regarding both brands. So it sounds like mission well accomplished for the marketing departments.

(Not painting that as either a good or a bad thing, just the reality.)

@Bwee Haven’t been on any meaningful social media platform in years. I decided to try Mastodon in July 2023 for shits and giggles.

I had absolutely no idea there were so many incredibly neat people on the platform, and the vast majority aren’t assholes. Like a table where people would wave you over instead of shoo you away.

I’d say it absolutely was a net positive for me. I hope I’ve been able to provide some positiveness back. (Life isn’t zero-sum, I don’t try and think that way.)

One exception - I’ve heard of countries (I think it was in Scandinavia) where some traffic fines were based off of income. So a $250 fine for one person was bumped to something like $250000 for someone with a much, much higher income.

Unfortunately, I don’t know of other countries where fines are levied that way. And a fine can seriously harm one person is chump change for another.

@feld @zorinlynx I wonder if this could be a problem since we’re moving a point of hardware failure from the PSU to the motherboard… but on the other hand there’s still a lot of other things that could potentially fail on the motherboard…
