@davidrevoy tbh Hyprland is actually really cool, the code from what i know is dogshit, the developer is dogshit, some of the design decisions being take are dogshit, but the end user result is astonishingly good to the point that it makes me sad that I can't morally justify using it given I know too much about how bad it is.

Hyprland is by all metrics offering an incredibly polished, endlessly customizable, extremely high quality end user experience that has a gigantic community offering plugins for nearly everything a user might want to do and also has cemented itself as an incredible DE that allows it to have effectively first-party support from major distros.

That last bit and the fact that all of the shitstirring is happening within internal channels, personal blogs etc allows Hyprland to keep marketing itself on the objective quality of the end result without users ever knowing that the dev is a fucking neonazi.

I would wager the people who know are a miniscule percentage of the userbase, even including past users that stopped using it, the amount of people that left because one time some unique Steam games broke on Hyprland because of code that the maintainers refused to fix is by itself outweighing the amount of people who are aware of the maintainership's actual political alignment, regardless if they care or not.

@lanodan @Miaourt nah this is some fucked shit with Safari on iOS specifically. Chrome on iOS works just fine and as everyone knows, third party browsers are "just Safari" with a UI layer on top.

Actual Safari on iOS gets some "benefits" still, like you can enable WebGPU and other stuff behind feature flags on it, or Apple may tweak its security profile from the "default" state offered through the WebKit framework, while third party browsers remain unaffected and would have to implement all that on their own.

One of those differences is causing the video to fail to load, after being downloaded but before being made available to the page as a resource.

Opening the URL directly in Safari just works, so the media stack is perfectly fine and all relevant codecs are available.

@Miaourt probably a bad video codec, it downloads the webm, but the inspector reports a network error although there is none when looking, it's a full file download, a 200 response, no cors errors in console

@davidrevoy the Internet and e-mail, as well as the English language as an international language, is directly in opposition and therefore discriminatory to my Christian values. If God wanted us to speak to each other instantly, freely, in a common language through infrastructure so tall it reaches deep into space, the Bible would not be speaking of the Tower of Babel and the punishment that followed.

@quad dual 4k with an extra type c and 3 more usb ports is probably a good soc too, they definitely ran out of i/o lanes given that the charging port is a shitty old school ungrounded plug and not even a power-only type c port, which also makes me wonder if they plan to sell this in europe given recent regulations

@quad nevermind it's probably some ultra dogshit pentium-level wattage vacuum since according to windows central it is expected to ship with intel and 8gb of ram: https://www.windowscentral.com/software-apps/windows-11/windows-365-link-desktop-cloud-pc-microsoft-announcement

Microsoft is launching a $349 desktop PC that only runs Windows 11 by streaming it from the cloud — is this the future of desktop computing?
Dubbed the "Windows 365 Link," the device is the first of a new class of dedicated 'boot to cloud' PCs, which have little local functionality.

Dems are so fucking fake and stupid down to the marrow.

"Vote Kamala or Hitler wins" was never a winning strategy: it failed with Clinton, it was going to fail with Biden.

Stop sucking the Party's cock, stop blowing bubbles on it, stop being a stupid fucking sheep and for one second consider saying "Vote Kamala so that we can vote Tim Waltz next term".

That is, if you actually care about the policies in politics, which is something the kind of people that shit out pro-Kamala propaganda never once in their lifetime gave a smidge of a shit about.

I was typing out a long ass post with how (expectedly) abusive and oppressive it gets, but I found an article from Euractiv explaining the major pain points.

Tl;dr: there are limits even for the police, but the second the words "national security" are uttered (e.g. they have been screamed over and over during pro-Palestine protests, anti-coal protests, etc) the police can do whatever the fuck they want, no limits of any kind.

There really should be a wider adoption of "this shit is paid if you are a big corp" licenses in open source projects. Operating as a nonprofit-at-heart doesn't make sense when your primary clients are definitely not the ones in need.
