@thomasfuchs I've got an extensive 'US Politics Shit' mute filter I use normally. I got tired of knowing massive amount of day-to-day details on a from a country I can't effect. I mean, knowing the big stuff is useful, but it's not going to live off mute until more than 1% of USians know who both Albanese and Ley are. Today, I need to know. Every sodding feud? Nah.
But, I still turn it off sometimes. The difference is, it's intentional rather than me soaking in it perpetually.
@fesshole I appreciate the snacking, but yikes - you're going to be no fun to be around once that starts bubbling away whilst being 'processed'
@fesshole I've got a soft (no pun intended) spot for the British spelling 'diarrhoea.' Because - as somebody else said - it lost control of its vowels.
@fesshole Obviously it's an octothorpe.
Meh - language changes over time. That's OK.
@mattl The only thing FF has going for it now is that there should be at least one alternative to Webkit
@fesshole I'd go to the tune of 'All Torn Down' by The Living End.
@selzero See how they run
See.
How.
THEY
RUN!!!!!!!!!!
@jwz This means that you never had the opportunity to opt out before the AI licensing changes, which with (I think) no consideration having passed, puts you in a very interesting contractual position.
@lzg He went the distance, but yikes, the rest of the card today were better fights.
@Gargron I'm on a few Mastodon servers as a user, and I haven't looked for or noticed any changes of features, yet.
But - I haven't noticed anything - software dev to software dev - is fantastic: it means you've released a major change which is stable and consistent enough that I haven't noticed it as a user. As a dev who hasn't always successfully done that, well done. It's a sign of the quality of your testing and review.
@sarahjamielewis I don't know whether it always used to be this bad, or if I didn't know any better in the mid 90s, but yikes, we're in an awful place now.
I'm so damned sick of the advertising industry.
@evacide There's always the exospeak.
"I engage in advocacy, policy and compliance targeted primarily around digital information and distribution with a particular emphasis towards unilateral consent patterns"
@br00t4c Cowards of a govt
@evacide My new training session was sponsored by Gouda.
It's called 'Git Gouda'.
@thomasfuchs I don't get the US Gun BS. Speaking as a Christian. I particularly don't get the Gun BS by ostensible Christians - people put their entire identities in these little metal idols alongside defining themselves by their nation before their god.
The US Constitution was - unlike the AU one, for instance - forged in wartime, uniting a bunch of disparate nation station, which heavily influenced how it was written. But, the US seems overall to act like they never stopped being at war.
@thomasfuchs Different David Murray to the one in Australia. That David is great.
@aral An elegant design when I checked it out
@Chelleville Not 100%. Lecherous landlords are included in that too.
@kaia There's an Ernst Wanke Rd in Melbourne.
And the Wanke is pronounced exactly like you'd hope
