...also, i got a baby some weeks ago, so that might slow down progress a bit more, but still, i am eager to get it done. With the baby it is hard to work on a laptop, but having this keyboard and AR glasses woyld make it easier again 😊

I am a full time nomad and have no real home and if you therefor cant invest into a big screen and comfy office chair, because you keep moving, and especially if you love the outdoors, then ideally you have a solution that finally enables me to stop exercising my profession in a sedentary health destroying style, life could finally be great.

Its a shame it already takes 8 years since i started. Luckily mobile compute and even AR glasses got a lot better since then as well 😃

@rauschma bluesky is broken by design. it only purpose is to subvert the fediverse. to sell a narrative and dont delive it so you can later capture and monetize.

bluesky will enshittify and is a lesson to those who are still to naive despite the obvious facts.

some ppl only learn when life teaches lessons, but we can spread the news so some can wake up before they sink more time into those dead ends 🤷♀️

Its not fancy like "bun" or "deno" or the old "nodejs", but its so much better and just low profile.

People should start building on top of that rather than VC funded deno or bun or legacy nodejs.

The foundational piece is hard to say in a hyper modular ecosystem.

If i would need to list the main pieces, i'd say its the interaction between the following modules:

I can highly recommend taking a look at the pear runtime. If you are familiar with nodejs javascript, all it takes is:

`npm install pear -g`

and then

`pear run pear://runtime`

to get started. Just follow instructions.

This runtime is part of the @dat_ecosystem and JS was choosen to exactly provide an easy way for anyone to get started with p2p.

i still prefer writing code and adopting it over writing specs.
code is executable spec.
maybe not as human readable, but when if not now could you use AI to turn it into readble english?

i remember a time when standards happened because the majority of users adopted a specific package as their dependency.

i really do prefer that over writing specs

i am not against it - but i am not a big fan of the big tech standard bodies approach.

i am all for people hacking on stuff and using it and sharing it with others who might adopt it.

let it be a more natural approach whwre adoption means it becomes an industry standard or best practice.

anyone can propose, other can adopt to grow how widespread something becomes.

Bitcoin will help with taking away the capitalist money printer privilege.

It wont just over night change the difference between poor and rich - this will require further steps, such as mutual aid and worker cooperatives and so on, but at least, anything that is successful cant just be outspent by capitalists printing money and make a cheaper copy cat where everyone is paid way more.

no more billionaires - they all got printed rich.

i am on nostr because it is the only truly decentralized social network.

1. it give you a keypair to be in charge instead of email/password managed by instance admins, where they are part of the name others know you by and, where they theoretically could impersonate or censor you.

2. you always have to choose one instance

in relay based your signing keypair owned by you is your account and you can use any relay (=instance) interchangably and even at the same time

Nobody does.
This is capitalism.
All it needs is a "reasonable line of arguing" (RLOA) for the capitalists to print money.

A startup with a reasonable pitch and a team with reasonable background is such a RLOA, which allows the Capitalists (e.g. VCs) who are defined by having access to the money printer, to create money and pay everyone, but especially themselves.

Thats how you get billionaires.

Nobody has an incentive to stop this.

i am ot a fan of fediverse. i am on mastodon because of the ppl and because it was ready at a time when alternatives where needed quickly.

now it is better and worse than bsky, depending on how you look

...all of them are worse than nostr, which isnt yet perfect and truly peer to peer, but it gets us a lot closer and further into that right direction.

fediverse is not needed.

also, i dont believe in that kind of forum of language/spec driven process.

the process you invited me to is the issue imho.

i am all for discussions like the ones we have here. they dont matter apart from inspiring some thoughts and what then matters is what work gets done later

thats the only thing maintainable imho...

...and having english spec first and then implementation is just unnecessary overhead that creates additional barriers to entry

Some might argue, money is nothing more than an opinionated recommendation or endorsement system. ...maybe thats false, but i enojy poking around and see where do stances differ and why.

Maybe it is possible to get new insights and learn in that process
