@kai I think we'll be seeing a lot more technical critiques surfacing about bluesky. bluesky is not decentralized but it has built a new twitter and that's clearly what a lot of people want so I think they'll be very successful.
I deleted my twitter account many years ago, way before dipshit tesla man bought it, and was happy to just follow a few accounts via nitter. once nitter could no longer operate it was either make an "x" account or do without so I just did without. now that bluesky has taken off I can follow most of the people I used to on twitter so that's nice. sure beats threads.
my initial non-technical impressions of bluesky: seems like a good place to follow people, specifically non-tech people, that have moved on from twitter (or are using both now) but the fediverse is much more comfortable and engaging to me for actual posting.
@stdh@cwebber@platypus (ice-9 match) is fully featured in hoot. If you were using (hoot match) then switch as that is a more primitive matcher. we'd also gladly accept a patch that adds iota to the (guile) module, if you're interested. glad you're having a good time with hoot!
I don't know if credit is due to local worcester ma journalist bill shaner or if he got this from somewhere else but I saw it in his latest newsletter and idk just gotta laugh a bit about the insufferable dystopia we find ourselves in here in the good ol' usa. further comments on this matter are redacted.
🔗 Seems like people are moving around between social media apps so new profile link options now available on your account settings page: You can set Bluesky, Mastodon, and Threads accounts by revealing the "More Links" section. All of these links will appear on your profile page.
Links added will have "rel=me" inserted on your profile so you can get a green check mark on your mastodon profile!
Are you a Guix user or contributor? If so, could you spare a few minutes to fill out this survey and share your feedback about Guix? It only took me a few minutes to complete and the information will help the project prioritize future work.
@krans@cwebber@flatwhatson I hang out on #guile and #spritely on liberal.chat. there's also #scheme but I don't recommend it as people are often unfriendly and the moderation isn't great, unfortunately.
Massachusetts trash. I mostly post about gardening, permaculture, music, and free software development (not a techbro I swear please you gotta believe me)he/him
