@kai I think we'll be seeing a lot more technical critiques surfacing about bluesky. bluesky is not decentralized but it has built a new twitter and that's clearly what a lot of people want so I think they'll be very successful.

I deleted my twitter account many years ago, way before dipshit tesla man bought it, and was happy to just follow a few accounts via nitter. once nitter could no longer operate it was either make an "x" account or do without so I just did without. now that bluesky has taken off I can follow most of the people I used to on twitter so that's nice. sure beats threads.

my initial non-technical impressions of bluesky: seems like a good place to follow people, specifically non-tech people, that have moved on from twitter (or are using both now) but the fediverse is much more comfortable and engaging to me for actual posting.

@stdh @cwebber @platypus (ice-9 match) is fully featured in hoot. If you were using (hoot match) then switch as that is a more primitive matcher. we'd also gladly accept a patch that adds iota to the (guile) module, if you're interested. glad you're having a good time with hoot!

wrote a base64 encoder/decoder for guile this morning. produces better bytecode than a widely used r6rs implementation. https://git.dthompson.us/chickadee/tree/chickadee/base64.scm

@krans @cwebber @flatwhatson I hang out on #guile and #spritely on liberal.chat. there's also #scheme but I don't recommend it as people are often unfriendly and the moderation isn't great, unfortunately.
