@BrianJohnson Ye I didn't know this was a thing until now. In that case it would be good if UIs allowed one to edit this at the same time as blocking someone.
@BeAware you just put the handle which is published as contact account on your mastodon. It will pm you the api key to it after verifying it's an admin account
@BeAware@kern Fediseer is a completely different paradigm that top-down lists like oliphant. One mixes and matches blocklists from multiple instances they trust. The one I linked is just our instance, but you can combine multiples, or maintain your own and let others use it.
@HarbingerOfSalem@BeAware To be fair, kolektiva.social does hasve an agenda, only it's the **right** agenda. I think the point is, don't join an "apolitical"/"status-quo" instance if you want to go against the status quo.
@aral Great talk! I thoroughly agree with your take on startups, but I'm curious what is the alternative when someone comes from the working class with no capital and has an idea for an online service which has the potential to sustain them. What other structures can we use to fund some initiatives, because, speaking as someone who's been working on FOSS for the past year, donations don't cut it.
@BeAware Of course not! AI Horde and Haidra existed before Nivenly and will exist after. I was just hoping to have an experienced org to help us navigate making this sustainable, but it seems I have to keep going in hard mode. Story of my life...
Nivenly finally announced that they're retroactively rejecting the #Haidra application. This finally closes a very stressful attempt of us trying to join an ethical org to help us navigate this sector as a new #FOSS project.
This whole endeavour has been severely demotivating for someone who put hundreds of hours developing FOSS. The reaction of the hachyderm community has been extremely toxic.
Ah finally, perfect time to get #Fallout 4 GOTY and immerse myself, now that I finished the Fallout TV Series.
As always, the only way to play Bethesda CRPGs like these is to wait half a decade for (most of) the bug to be fixed, get the GOTY and mod it all to hell and back to fix the rest.
My anti-spam #lemmy automoderator bot #Threativore is now available as a docker container and it is now fully enabled for reporting, removing, and banning. Here's my lemmy announcement: https://lemmy.dbzer0.com/post/15112791
@aral@ShadowJonathan@SrEstegosaurio nlnet is indeed quite a difficult and slow process which mirrors how difficult and slow EU is. I can imagine how frustrating this rejection was. Having to give a little song and dance on top of working daily for free on FOSS is not how it should be. Not every Foss developer has the pr chops or skill to do this kind of applications. So this is just further marginalizing those with the least ability to support their work.
@GossiTheDog I heard horror stories of companies trying to sue FOSS developers because the software caused failed somehow and caused them monetary damages
