@castarco I’m the wrong person to ask; I’d try and find someone who has actually managed to get funding from them. Either they’re entirely clueless/shortsighted (in funding features for systems that already exist instead of research and development) or, at this point, I’m thinking perhaps someone involved at #FSFE (most likely)/#NLNet/#NGI is specifically blocking our attempts or something. There’s zero transparency in the process so impossible to know. 🤷♂️
@t0k@ShadowJonathan@SrEstegosaurio Not unless they implement a transparent process and I can see who is involved in the decision making and what was discussed.
I have a feeling that someone is blocking our applications (and I have a very good idea who) and I don’t have time to waste.
@aral@ShadowJonathan@SrEstegosaurio And EU want's to spend 40 billions for the chips act (likely all proprietary technology). 50K would disappear in the noise.
@db0@ShadowJonathan@SrEstegosaurio Wasn’t the only rejection. And I don’t think the blocking is coming from #NLNet itself. Regardless, the real problem is there’s zero transparency into the process. We don’t know who has input on which applications, what their qualifications are, what that input is, or any other part of the decision-making process. It’s an opaque process that should be transparent.
@aral@ShadowJonathan@SrEstegosaurio nlnet is indeed quite a difficult and slow process which mirrors how difficult and slow EU is. I can imagine how frustrating this rejection was. Having to give a little song and dance on top of working daily for free on FOSS is not how it should be. Not every Foss developer has the pr chops or skill to do this kind of applications. So this is just further marginalizing those with the least ability to support their work.
