Absolutely. And anybody in an actual position to do anything (like actual staffers & capital police) all seem to have taken a stun grenade to the face. Otherwise it's puzzling why actual law enforcement isn't all up in their grills.

Fair point (and, no, I don't understand what the hang-up is). But also, pretty confident that if parties were reversed, this would be an entirely different conversation.

It really doesn't seem like it could be as complicated as everyone is trying to make it out to be

What I want to know is: who has the authority to lock his ass up?
I mean, he has NO official standing, & by all accounts what he's doing is wildly illegal.

I've called my rep. I'm presuming this is a message for House members, not Senators, correct? Or is there merit in tagging in Senators, too?

Thank you. I'll do that this afternoon. Also: thank you for the scripts, effectively. I never know what to say in these situations.
Edit: Thank you for the scripts, •especially•
(Wtf, brain??)

It really helps. Also, one can practice a couple of rounds before making the actual call.
& I've given up worrying about stammering. This isn't an Oscar we're auditioning for. 😉

Hey peeps, need some recs from the hivemind: I have a friend who is a wheelchair user who needs a carrier for his cat. His current one is a soft, back-pack like carrier, so the bottom doesn't hang level when he hooks it onto the back of his wheelchair, leaving his kitty smushed into the fold at the bottom. It seems likely this is a solved problem. Does anybody have any recommendations for a cat carrier to hook onto the back of a wheelchair?

Interface adjustment is a big part of it. Even if it's terrible, I will many times go for the thing I know that I'm fluent in, rather than try to take on something new that I have to learn.
Spin-up costs are real, & I get frustrated very easily.

Oh FUCK YOU, Microsoft, what fresh hell is this? This just started turning up today. Whenever I start or click into a different paragraph. And there's apparently no way to turn off the "alert" bug in 365 for MacOS.
Welp. Unless I can learn to ignore it, this may be the thing that pushes me over the edge into using Open Office. (Is that the current best open replacement for Word?)

The Minneapolis Science Fiction Society (MinnStF) & its convention, has a long-standing policy: The right to freedom of speach does not include the right to shout David in a crowded party. I did once, & four people turned around.
Every year at Minicon, they have a photo session for the League of Super Davids. One year I attended, the photo included 47 people, one of them a woman (whose surname was David).
There was an APA for years called APA-David. All authors had the name David.

Oh neat! Just found out that I misremembered the "health care plan" I'd signed up for '24, & wound up picking the OTHER ("cheaper") one for '25—with the net result that my prescriptions for the year comes in at 4x what I paid last year. "Covered 100% AFTER deductible."
I wonder what other gotchas are laying in wait....
& those of delicate sensibilities wonder why people are sympathetic with Luigi....

Okay, WOW.
I initially parsed PIGS as some obscure military jargon acronym or something, but on 2nd reread realized you meant actual porcine type mammals. Holy fuck.
& pigs are smart enough I bet they don't even need the drones; I suspect they just quietly track Russian troop movements, on principle.
Jfc 😬

Thank you. I can't imagine that my nym has remotely enough attention to be worth pirating, but I also just haven't had the bandwidth to deal with deleting my Xitter account. Good: something to cross off my to-do list.

I have a family curry recipe that is basically curried tomatoes.
It only occurred to me recently that it's not far off chicken tika masala. Just doesn't have the yogurt in.
