@jcurries I finished it too. I really loved it. The ML character got me annoyed at first but he redeems himself from ep 8 onwards.
It's truly well done, the photography, the cinematography with all those flashbacks and forwards, the dialogues, the romance...

Here's the thing. Just like Koreans don't like to be culturally assimilated to Japanese or Chinese from Western people, now maybe more than before, a lot of people in Europe want to be set apart from North Americans. Our culture is different and that difference is somehow present in English-speaking Great Britain too.

@youronlyone @kdramarama @EllenInEdmonton @kdrama so while Adolescence, which is a British production, may receive an Emmy award in the US, since both countries speak English, that particular mini-series is something that today could have never come out of Hollywood.
Because, as you mentioned, the US cinema industry doesn't portray real societal issues anymore.

Personally I would prefer that people started using the adjective North-American instead of a general and confusing Western.

Have you watched Adolescence? Supacell? HPI? Marseille ? La Casa Del Papel?
This is just to name a few not coming out of Hollywood and showing real societal issues.
In Europe the industry is not as developed as in South Korea, China, Japan or the USA. There's definitely less money. However you can find entertaining contents too.

Unfortunately with 26°C I couldn't even get to 1h of #running 😟🥵

My Achilles tendon started bothering me again. I haven't run at all last week, nevertheless I have logged 16k - 20k steps/day, most of which with 4-5 kg of equipment on my shoulders.

I'm not feeling confident about the HM. My ultimate plan will now involve:
➡️ pool sessions (1h aquajogging + 30' swimming) 2x/week
➡️ long run 1x/week
➡️ strength sessions 2x/week

There's a lot of hype and I'm curious about this new generation of actors, but the plot didn't convince me.

@youronlyone @ronsboy67 I think this #kdrama may have set the trend. The viewers see what's happening for the most part but there's still some restraint 🤓. Medical k-dramas that followed went further.

And it is indeed touching! It has some minor issues but it strikes right at the viewers heart ❤️

A 2015 medical drama.
Vote: 8/10.

Compared to more recent k-dramas it shows a bit less surgery details. Probably the budget for special effects in collapsing buildings and earthquake destruction didn't leave much room for anything else.

And I don't know exactly what happened but characters in the past were more daring when it comes to romance. I loved the secondary couples and the main couple kiss scene. The ending was disappointing though.

@ronsboy67 yeah the closing scene doesn't make sense imho. They handled much better the secondary couples romance.
And the main villain development leaves me a bit skeptical too.
Still I found it passionating and addictive. And I also cried when ____ died 😭💔.

I have to admit I am quite baffled by the votes given to Israel. I suspect a group of rich supporters maxing out 20 votes per credit card and using different cards to achieve that.

Why we would allow 20 votes per card is beyond my understanding. It used to be 5 votes a few years ago.

Yes, most people unfortunately stay quiet. I consider myself a tolerant person when it comes to controversial opinions. As long as they're reasoned and motivated without personally attacking other users, I think every point of view can lead to a constructive and enriching discussion.
On the other hand I believe blogging to be more like a monologue or a dissertation. It's a very important tool to get thoughts out of one's chest. Not an exchange though.

@youronlyone I believe this is a general trend not linked exclusively to #drama discussions.
Exchanges are increasingly polarised by personal sensitivity to certain topics.
It's more important today to belong to a faction rather than expressing a nuanced POV.
It may have something to do with the communities being now online. People don't meet as often as they used to do at the public library book club.
Social approval comes easier through a popular opinion compared to an insightful one.
