   Good news: dentist has found a tooth that needs to come out & he can do it this afternoon. He's pretty confident that it's what's been causing my headache & would explain why it's continuing to get worse.

     Lots of anaesthesic, an hour in the chair, and I now have: 1 less tooth, 1 less crown (to be replaced in 2 weeks), and $2,500 less moneys.

     Heading home now to rest & recover & hope this fixes the headache!

     @s1m0n4 that's $2500 Australian, which is about 1500 euros. I don't have private health insurance, and alas there's no dental cover included in our otherwise mostly socialised healthcare system. So that's the full cost. I believe that's a fairly normal price for this kind of treatment in Australia, but I haven't done a lot of comparison shopping.

     @lookitmychicken I've never spent that much money on dental care! I have 2 dental crowns and I removed 2 wisdom teeth

     I've been going to the same dentist in Melbourne CBD for, um, 20-ish years I guess. Although I took a break for a few years because I ran out of money and energy.

     You should come here and I'll refer you to my dentist, she's lovely and the prices are so much more reasonable!

     A colleague who works remote came to visit this year for work related reasons and while she stayed with us had some tooth issues, she now wants to come back here for the dentist rates alone 🤗
