There are news .. that make you feel like "some times are really ended" 😢 .. seeing the things you love/loved so much disappear .. for years and years Trieste, home country of ILLY coffee and a town with "a RELIGIOUS OBSESSION for coffee" .. was the place at "Espresso at 1000 lire" ( 50 Euro cents ) .. then .. came Eur .. it jumped to 1 Eur .. ( which is twice as much ) .. and it stayed .. but NOW they are thinking to put it at 1.50 or even 2 Eur because it costs already more in other places 😢

@HauntedOwlbear @eniko I knew a few people that tried Germany, but there it's required knowledge of German language. I would NOT recommend Holland after hearing 'too many stories' about people working there ( plus it seems they have 'special laws for EU citizens' ) I know some people "would just run to Finland" but it can be very cold there, I've been there a few times not sure would do for me for too long 🙂 I would not go Italy cause 'too much to deal with' and not a good place to work 🙂

@HauntedOwlbear @psychicparrot42 I mean it makes me wonder because our stuff is moderately complex, some bits even use multi-threading and such but "doesn't try to do stuff exoteric/weird more I think than what any 'normal' game would do". Ok if it uses a VM I suppose MAY lead to some performance problems ? But I still find it weird and/or maybe because those are games using "a huge amount of memory" which our games normally don't ? Also I must be said ( well it's 50% true ) but at least CONT.

@HauntedOwlbear @psychicparrot42 all the graphic memory used in our engine is "bound" i.e. doesn't exceed the once allocated space and let's say I have my own "mem manager" that grabs/uses/re-uses mem blocks for the GPU stuff it uses very minimal driver/os calls for that MAYBE there's that too ?? I never really spent much time profiling/checking "to the bits" because "it works fine as it is so it's good" 😅 The "test" is "does it run well on X" ? "Yes ? DON'T touch it" 😅 i.e. do I know why ? NO!

@psychicparrot42 What the heck do they do "to make it work on Windows 10 AND NOT on Windows 11" ?? This always puzzled me .. I haven't tried recently on 11 but I am sure Space Giraffe for example works on Win10 and I made it since Windows XP. "Just read MSDN and do the stuff the way it should be done!" Or it's a "weird PC weird GPU graphic drivers issues" that's not really "A win problem" or "you used some really weird OS features" ? .. True that PCs are "an HW mess" but still 🤔

@eniko Do you still require the $xxx something per year to be listed/present "on the iOS/OSX store" / be part of "Apple Developer" / be able to "officially" distribute/put out Apple SW ? Our problem was 1. every OS update was breaking something requiring something to be fixed 2. not enough sales 3. the "per year payment" eroding 2 , 4. not enough 'exposure' .. in essence was "quite some work for nothing much added" 😐 Maybe today is different dunno, we don't have Apple PCs around any more.
