Just finished watching Identity Crisis, the Daily Wire doc about the gender industry’s predation on kids. It was very well done, moving, and creepy (especially the archival footage of John Money and live video of surgeries). No Matt Walsh-style gotcha moments, no religious moralizing, good commentary from talking heads, notably no mention of stats about how many of these kids would grow up LGB. Nothing new to those of us who have been following the issue. I’m guessing the target audience is centrist legislators who might be swayed to vote to ban gender medicine for kids.
For a decade now, Pride has been dominated by a large, powerful, and politically-connected community that regularly, overtly, and loudly calls for the deaths of their enemies, namely women who say “no” to men who say they are women. Any larger social movement that tolerates a smaller group using a violent political slogan (“Kill All TERFs”) is bound to eventually deteriorate into wider displays of violence.
Pride is not going away all of a sudden. Changes will be gradual. Rather, the progress flags that covered the White House like a Nuremberg rally during the last four years will simply not reappear under the new Trump administration. Cast back out of power once more, the gender identity activists running the alphabetical nonprofit organizations will hold louder and prouder demonstrations to compensate.
Like the Summer of Love in 1967, which gave way to the violence and disorder that helped make Richard Nixon president in 1968, this year will see the gender hippies splitting into factions. Some are acting out, and lashing out, hardening public attitudes against their agenda. Others, like Brianna Wu, appear on Triggernometry in hopes of salvaging something from the wreckage of “we just want to pee.”
@LaylaAlexandrovna@polarisera@KeepTakingTheSoma A kid recently told me about a video she saw of a stage performance “in the 1900s.” I think it was shot in 1986. Man did that make me feel old.
@KeepTakingTheSoma Absolutely. It’s clear, for example that the Democrat-appointed Supreme Court judges deciding the US Skirmetti case aren’t just “woke,” they’ve been indoctrinated with fancy training about how to think about “trans.”
That trend of thinking-by-committee—maximizing short-term profits at the expense of the long-term health and raison d’être of the industry—is nothing new. But, now, the Big Five’s choice to underinvest in literary novels reaches its logical end in the coming emergence of the “AI novel,” which, frankly, may mark the end of literature as we’ve known it.
@KeepTakingTheSoma This tragic turn of events must be much more common than we know. Weird kids on bad medicine quietly retreating into chronic illness and even expiring.
@HebrideanHecate This is also happening in Canadian summer camps. I wonder how many parents will keep their daughters home as they wake up to what’s happening.
@EatKnitSleepAgain@Piss_Ant@Cousin_Isobel I think the difference is that sexual assault is objectively bad, whereas gender indoctrination is packaged as “kindness.” You have to ask questions to get beyond the advertising.
@Piss_Ant@Cousin_Isobel In this interview, two Canadian teachers in different provinces talk about how they were on board with gender education until their daughters developed ROGD, which did definitely wake them up to the dangers they had been mindlessly promoting.
@Piss_Ant@Cousin_Isobel It’s a lot more than five, and the contagion seems to be hitting “progressive” schools especially hard. These parents and “allies” seem to have signed their brains over to the NDP and their friends.
