@tek There is this piece of cliche-wisdom: "small kid, small problems; big kid, big problems". I don't agree with it fully, but it does work for any financial ones.
@dedicto@drahardja@Remittancegirl There are plenty of practical benefits to not being a nazi, even beyond not getting punched at random: - diversity brings more creative ideas, improving quality. - immigrants are going to take better care of you when you are a pensioner - you have fewer enemies if you don't create them - crime rate goes down when people are more equal etc.
There's lots of research about all those liberal ideals and ideas and they are proven to work!
@tek@alltherum Same here. And I write the comments first, they are the specification of the pieces that have to be filled in. (I can design the structure of the program so much faster than I can write all the code for all those classes and methods.)
@tek@alltherum After a while I think everybody (who otherwise writes comments) always writes comments without thinking. They are useful for the Future Author, even in one-person things.
@tek@1password one similar experience for me is iLoq electromechanical keys. When you insert the key into the lock, the motion generates the electricity needed for reading the tag in the key. If you insert the key too fast, it doesn't work. Giving up the expectation of "every time I use the right key, the door opens" has been very painful.
One of the things I love about Fedi is the community of neurodivergent people figuring out together how to be good humans, and explaining the methods to each other. I've spent my whole life doing this.
Tech, music, interesting news, life, the universe and everything. All opinions are my own. I like debating, but if you come at me with ad hominem arguments or similar BS I will block you.
