   Thinking about technological independence from the US. Almost everyone's phones are subject to Apple or Google's surveillance and control.

   We will need a European phone OS.

   Pouring money into GrapheneOS (or maybe something else) would make a lot of sense at this point.

     the murena phone shop which is based in france is the closest thing we have as a competitor

     murena can use all the regular android applications, and again, people are using the galaxy market on samsung phones because they cannot bloody tell the difference
     
     if you so much as have to mention f-droid, you are not going to reach the wider population

     @szakib the ecosystem is actually going to be the biggest issue. like getting banks and the like to move their unnecessary but required apps to other OSs will be a problem @EUCommission

     @mensrea well, the OS has very little market share and Jolla has Russian money in it. That said, I'm not pushing Graphene, I just think it would be the obvious choice. The point is to have whatever that is not Android or iOS, for normal people to buy a phone with.
     BTW maybe /e/OS could be good as well.

     @NeonPurpleStar @EUCommission @mensrea Sorry my point was that this is covered. You don't need to mention F-droid, it's one of the data sources in the App Lounge. Pre-configured, nothing to do for the user just browse the apps.
