@seanbala @books If you're happy with an image, then the easiest way is to create a screenshot. I believe you can create a screenshot by pressing the Volume Up button and the Power button at the same time, and then you can crop the resulting image in your photo gallery app before sharing the image.

@davidgewirtz @davidhmccoy @mookie Every server has its own community. And some communities are a bit more strict with who they let in than others. I would have called that a “gated community” instead of a “walled garden”. Because, as you may have seen, as soon as you entered the #fediverse you’re still able to communicate with people from those communities.
A walled garden would mean that you can’t go outside of your community that you’ve chosen.

I have more faith in Apple’s assurances than in Google’s. After all the latter used to have “don’t be evil” in their statutes until they quietly removed it.

Also the link is to a really old article. All online services have csam scanning technology built in.

@ryanhoulihan Maybe he removed that post already, but I don't see it on there. And he's the only source for all other news reports I've seen on this subject.

It's horrible and despicable behavior, if it's true.
