I want everyone to know that I do not support plans to protest at 11 a.m. Saturday in front of Tesla dealerships, and that especially includes the Tesla dealership at 14010 Perry Hwy (Route 19), Wexford, PA 15090, and certainly not 1400 Brockwell St., Bridgeville, PA 15017.
Please do NOT share this message or the hashtag, #TeslaTakeover
@feld Yeah, but in between it made the Great Depression substantially worse. Although I'm not sure what else is going to break through the heads of the American public other than a systemic collapse. I've never been an accelerationist, but I'm starting to believe we need a complete hard reset.
I don't know why I hadn't thought of it before this morning, but @pluralistic's enshittification model clearly can be applied to nation-states as well.
We're witnessing the platform decay of the United States. And the sick irony of Crapification Day happening on Martin Luther King Jr. Day is enough to gag a maggot.
Shunning someone because they're using Meta products is little like shunning someone in 1975 for using the Bell System. Facebook and Instagram are that pervasive, especially for people who are older and poorer users. People use those products because they have to.
Meta is a monopoly, but at least Bell in 1975 was heavily regulated. Meta is more arrogant than Bell ever dreamed of being.
@Whiskeyomega@pluralistic I don't know much about high-end audio equipment, but I've build a fair number of kits, and the components inside that pre-amp seemed like off-the-shelf stuff. The construction quality seemed about what I would expect from a consumer-grade kit from someone like Dayton Audio. Just my opinion. YMMV.
Between Scarborough's capitulation and the ass-kissing that "SNL" gave to Trump this weekend, I guess Comcast NBC Universal dropped the hammer on everyone who works there.
Golly, maybe it was a bad idea to sell all of our news media to giant publicly traded conglomerates.
Who could have predicted, etc., oh well, live and learn
I'm a part-time journalist and historian in #McKeesport, PA, and a full-time PR person. Married.
#Union proud (NWU since 2000). #Cartoonist. I'm also known as W3MCK on #hamradio, and serve as the unexpected foreign body in the annals of #Pittsburgh#radio from 12 to 3 p.m. on Saturdays on WRCT 88.3 FM and Tube City Online internet radio.
It's very telling that the white men on my Facebook feed are like, "ha ha, what a week, wow, glad there's no more political commercials on TV, lol" and the Black people and LGBTQ+ people on my Facebook feed are discussing their passports, making out wills, and encrypting their emails.
"Our Never Trump allies have been as useless as a butter knife against a freight train.
"Campaigning with Liz Cheney didn’t matter a damn, and proudly booming the endorsement of her war-criminal father was good for nothing but embarrassment. The Lincoln Project, which reeked of grift from the start, produced classy ads that might as well have been bowling balls dropped into a well."
