    @mcc I am mildly amused to see Marshmallo referred to as just some guy

    @inthehands hot take: it’s good none of the rules apply to sovereigns that print money and they should stop pretending like they do.

    But otherwise, yeah, this all sounds Very Education System

    @0xjessel is there not an iOS share sheet for just sharing a link to Threads you’re already looking at in another app?

    @mattly sure, yeah, disable that too. Was just jarring seeing a seasoned tech person suggest they see them at all.

    @getajobmike @mattly block ads?

    Sure auto play videos suck but with an ad blocker you won’t see them anyhow.

    @mattly oh and “catch ‘em all”/completing the Pokédex has always been a competitionist thing. They’re fine playing standalone, I just wanted to explain the gimmick. The choice is mostly Koreidon/past or Miraidon/future, and even then this “paradox region” is end game. Don’t worry about it, go on cover art vibes.

    @brewsterkahle matrix is open source. Signal is also open source but runs a service used by millions worldwide. You can’t deploy a signal endpoint if they go under.

    I don’t think “running a live service” is what people mean when they say “support”, no?

    @mcc uh IIRC this is a “joke but not really” in psychology and social sciences.

    The joke is “add ‘among mostly 18–22yos with the social status to be in college’ to every psychology paper”

    @mattly someone the other day asked me if I had tried Obsidian. I never had and couldn’t remember why I hadn’t given it a spin.

    This thread is reminding me (it’s Electron, right? I strive to use exactly zero Electron apps)

    @schwa @inthehands using the beta is not a supported configuration. Why does this mean they hate their users? I’d pull up usage numbers but it isn’t worth my time it’s so obvious.
