@mattly oh and “catch ‘em all”/completing the Pokédex has always been a competitionist thing. They’re fine playing standalone, I just wanted to explain the gimmick. The choice is mostly Koreidon/past or Miraidon/future, and even then this “paradox region” is end game. Don’t worry about it, go on cover art vibes.

More people bought Violet, so picking Scarlet will make trades easier. You can get all the monsters no matter which game you have, and the plot is the same.
