Also, this is a huge gift for Meta/Facebook and Zuck in particular as he lobbied hard for this to happen so he can completely solidify his total #monopoly on the #socialmedia space.

@RenewedRebecca I would have picked Mullvad VPN but they make it so difficult to subscribe to considering that they don't accept credit/debit cards and you have to go through a lot of hoops and places to find those gift cards (which is the reason I chose Proton in the first place).

IPVPN is another good option which I do like after using it for a few months as a backup VPN. I feel all other VPNs are shady as eff.

@ppb1701 The main reason for me is that consoles are going to completely drop physical media in the next gen and it's going to be all DRM all the time.

So the Nintendo Switch 2 has been teased as it's probably going to be the last hurrah of the console as we know it.

@drwho @rhosyn Yep, and also with the TikTok ban, it creates a precedent that any non-US service like Proton in this case is now a threat to the US government.

All they have to do is say the two magic words in "national security" and they can be banned. It's a difficult scenario foe many non-US based services right now.
