In some positive news, I updated Linux Mint to the latest version after putting it off for a while.

I would get in touch with your state Attorney General and do attend Congressional Town Halls as soon as tomorrow (assuming if your member of Congress is having one) and continue contacting your member of Congress and state AG and let them know this crisis in real time and convince them to do something.
