@chrisgeidner Thomas and Alito often display a differing judicial philosophy, specifically that they believe the white men of the #republican party should rule the world unopposed for all eternity and be allowed to forcefully impose their desires on all sentient beings.

The community resistance to #ICE in #Minnesota can, and should, be replicated all over the country.

Please. Even if ICE or other #trump loyalists aren't active in your community, there's a lot you can do to help others. Or you could donate, or volunteer services. Or show others what *they* might not know they can do.

There are many other things that can be done on the road to the midterms, of course. Donating. Demonstrating. Protesting. Advocating. Being hands that help.

Addendum: telling people there won’t be midterms doesn’t help. Instead, tell people how you plan to help ensure we have them.

The #republican party wants the not-rich to be too sick and too poor to effectively oppose them.

It’s a frightening part of the fascist playbook: #trump and his fellow fascists believe that movements won’t form to depose them if everyone is too busy due to illness and a high cost of living.

We have to #resist . The world doesn’t have to be like this. There are better ways, better systems to handle all of our problems.

@xankarn I use #nokings almost daily. But even here on relatively moderate Mastodon, there seem to be lots of people who have swallowed the both-sides Kool-aid that prevents them from joining the opposition against the #Trump regime.

Democrats and other non-Trump groups shouldn’t have to be 100% morally pure to garner support against authoritarianism.

People who sit on the sidelines while fascism flourishes have no moral high ground.

Whether you've got #republican or #democrat reps, consider contacting them in advance of 9/30 and let them know what you want.

You can use #resistbot and there's phone numbers and stuff in the link to contact your MoCs.

Don't be quiet. Don't sit there uselessly saying there's nothing anyone can do. Try doing something. Be a small part of a coalition.

It’s worth reiterating that the #trump tariffs are endlessly pointless and endlessly corrupt. Helping prop up #musk and his miserable businesses is just one example.

We need to keep trying to punish the #republican party for enabling this. We need to unite and push them out of power. Contact your local groups and #democrats and ask them what you can do to help.

@cwebber Not sure if this is one of those “humor” things humans sometimes do, but you don’t need blogposts to answer that question. The answer is a simple “no”.

@augieray I understand the Democratic Party isn’t perfect, and never will be.

But I don’t understand refusing to vote, refusing to donate, advocate or volunteer. I don’t understand believing the solution lies in a fictional third party with no political power or infrastructure, that cannot become larger than the Republican prior to the next election.

If people believe the current regime is sliding towards fascism, then they should show up at the opposing party’s door and start pitching in.

I know that is pessimistic sounding, but it just seems intensely unlikely that Congress will prevent Trump from taking office. Republicans control the house and the Senate has been deadlocked for years.

Jeff Bezos probably doesn't care if you cancel your subscription to the Washington Post.
