@augieray I understand the Democratic Party isn’t perfect, and never will be.

But I don’t understand refusing to vote, refusing to donate, advocate or volunteer. I don’t understand believing the solution lies in a fictional third party with no political power or infrastructure, that cannot become larger than the Republican prior to the next election.

If people believe the current regime is sliding towards fascism, then they should show up at the opposing party’s door and start pitching in.

@tuban_muzuru @benroyce I know it’s pessimistic, but I think Putin will only leave office when he dies of old age. There were people saying he would fall years ago. It keeps not happening.

I know that is pessimistic sounding, but it just seems intensely unlikely that Congress will prevent Trump from taking office. Republicans control the house and the Senate has been deadlocked for years.

@Gargron I don’t want to get too technical for anyone here, but years ago I circumvented this problem by buying a device that was specifically designed to play blu-rays 😀

It was a little pricey at the time, and I had some issues setting it up (at first I just set it on the floor and waited for it to start playing blu-rays, but after some Googling I learned it needed to be plugged into a TV) but it worked well for a long time. Now my only issue is finding stores that sell blu-rays.

I wonder if maybe he will just keep Vance, continue to lie about his polling, and rely on his Republican thugs in state government to rig the vote for him. Marc Elias has been warning us about this possibility.

@shoq Taibbi and other bottom feeders often fail to explain how other countries have avoided problems that America has, like gun violence.
