1) The National Guard troops aren’t really the ones to worry about, at least not yet.

2) ICE and the other federal agents are the ones to really worry about.

3) The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is showing their ass and helping the Feds target immigrant, non-white, and houseless residents of D.C.

Maybe you don’t go on social media at all but if you bank online, submit job applications online, etc. your info is getting collected, scraped, and sold. Your ISP or cellphone provider keeps track of where you are and what sites you visit.

And there’s the whole thing about credit bureaus, which collect and sell your info even if you don’t really go online at all.

@carnage4life I attended an online seminar about philanthropic uses of AI (through work) and the host was talking about a mother in a poor village with no doctor using AI to look up treatments for her young child suffering from dysentery. Being the kind of person I am, I said “it sounds like that village needs clean water a lot more than AI,” which threw off the host and which a bunch of other attendees nodded along with.
