@evan @mayintoronto I replied, but truth be told, I'm hesitant to attend an indoor event with maskless folks. :-(

I took an art class this week, online, and am excited about the new dimensions it's adding to my way of art-making. This has quite a different feel to my two previous attempts to paint this (abstract, emotional) subject.

I'm celebrating the ambiguity, the depth, the move away from narrative and illustratoon \o/

@evan yeah, I don't mind it, either. I love living in a city.

Ours is close to the surface, and right under the house, so it's always audible … but the brain filters it out, I guess.

But last year they did "improvement" work on the line - grinding the rails to keep them smooth, or something - and for many weeks after that I heard screaming steel-on-steel every few min., 18 hrs a day. It was a nightmare. (I'm on the 2nd floor. Pity the basement tenant!)

I hope they don't do that again soon!

I can vouch for the fact that one totally stops hearing the subway rumble after some weeks 😂

Oops, there it goes now. Well, ok. Occasionally you'll still notice it!
