@steter @ai6yr Do you mean like a large tuning knob to select which site to visit, and a fine tuner to select the page? Or just using a ships wheel as a scroll wheel?
These lawless fucks are keeping score. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a "fantasy Gestapo" league to see who can be the most violent without getting caught.
@jeridansky@ai6yr@sindarina@mattblaze@MsMerope Land lines are already on life support. When my copper #POTS line went dead last year, I had to wait a week or so for a tech to be able to come out, scheduled on a very user-unfriendly support website. The tech mentioned in passing that there are only 2 or 3 techs covering the entire peninsula from SJ to SF, both COs and lines, because he had to wait for his counterpart to get to the CO to check the line from the other end.
AT&T just wants to focus on the higher margin and more monetizable business of selling expensive lifetime-limited electronics that push ads and tracking into our pockets.
@jwz I'm curious what you were actually doing that didnt work for a non-obvious reason and led to a multi-hour exploration to create a minimal repro. If not ordinary custom scripts for web or sysadmin tasks, I'm guessing custom spamassassin rules or nagios plugins.
@drahardja I am honestly more impressed with Joe Biden's policy moves than I expected when he came into office. He has made it a priority to have real movement towards equality for non-whitemales. He talked about it during his campaign and I fully expected it was going to be empty promises but then he went and did some of it.
Yes, some stuff isn't great. There's inflation, immigration pressures, wars in other countries, resurgent covid and new pandemic-potential infections. Biden isn't handling those great. But on every one of those, I am positive that Trump would be handling them worse, be it through promotion of conspiracy theories, shifting blame, violating human rights, or plain old lies and bullshit.
@mekkaokereke when they say "tough on crime" what they mean is "tough on criminals." And by "criminals" they don't mean "people who break the law" they mean "black and poor people."
