Imagine my surprise when I learned after getting back to NE Seattle after the march that I need not have left! There was a ten block march down 35th Ave NE just a few blocks from our door.
I'm glad we went to the big event, though.

It's taking some getting used to for me.
In #Seattle, the *march* was smaller at 70K+ than the Womxn's March (100K+).
The overall bodies who attended a rally today in the Puget Sound region was probably well over 100K+, though.

I have to get it through my head. The new game isn't about numbers. It's the big march *and* people waaay outside the urban core also doing their thing. It's first timers who weren't seen on the news but were still seen.

This is off target and weird.

I had coffee with a former intern.
I told them I will continue to look for positions that seem like a good match for their career.
I also told them I think they should put effort into moving their career out of the US. It was the bumpiest part of the conversation. I'm hoping to get better at it.

They receive a paper copy of the New York Times.
I could not possibly know, reading what's here, that the US' federal agencies are being deliberately destroyed, that the VP is catering to Putin, or any of the things that are actually important right now.

The organizers seemed really new and like they were learning on the fly very quickly. I'm waiting to hear how Olympia went.
I hope the success today means there are now some newly minted organizers ready to move to the next thing (and with maybe more communication explaining things like, e.g., here's what you do when somebody in the crowd starts hurling rocks or when the Brown Shirts attack.)
