My fingers are so cracked and dry from moving house that my phone doesn't recognise my fingerprint...
On the plus side, I moved house! Technically moved a few days ago, but the majority of our stuff is now out of the old rented place, so I think it's safe to say we have Moved™ now.
@HauntedOwlbear I am curious about said techniques. Generally pretty good at keeping myself together, but it's been a bit more difficult lately for various reasons
@HauntedOwlbear Oh yes, it's a problem with Enterprise too. Should really look into ways of disabling it because it's a nightmare. That and the Copilot button on the taskbar.
@Tijn@HauntedOwlbear I think it's easy to forget that, while Valve is certainly more pro-consumer than most others like it, is still a massive corporation with a business edging on a monopoly. Gabe may seem like a nice bloke, but... he's still a billionaire
@HauntedOwlbear Oh, that's a bit tragic. I am tempted to give it a whirl on my Pentium II, but I doubt I'll have chance to do that before your deadline.
@HauntedOwlbear Came across a game earlier which runs on Windows XP, if that counts? https://mutantleg.itch.io/zortch I haven't played it yet, but it has Overwhemingly Positive reviews on Steam.
LB: I've always said that if you're going to release a remake / remaster, you should ALWAYS include a playable version of the game in its original form. The Halo remasters have been fabulous for this, allowing you to switch at any time during the game. The Monkey Island and Day Of The Tentacle remasters do as well. Can't think of any other examples off the top of my head, which goes to show it should be a more common practice!
Just downloading some music off #Bandcamp, and... well, this is rather alarming. I didn't even get any advance warning of this, and the only copy I have is the lossy version :(
All the more reason to make sure you have copies of all your music, in case your favourite artists decide to jump ship.
@fu@48kRAM LibreOffice uses the old-school menu by default, but it does include an option for a ribbon-style interface too! Also, it's still maintained.
@48kRAM And here is Word 2019, which I daresay is even worse than TextMaker. Look at the big gap on the ribbon where you could put lots of nice buttons!
A few weeks ago, my good friend Blunaowl sent me a Google Drive archive of a disc containing 22,000 animated GIFs. Today I've put that up on my web space, so you can browse as it was originally intended (for better or worse).
