   often times the stores have rules against this (like steam, gog) where if the publisher picks up stakes they still have to honor any purchases made.

     Just downloading some music off #Bandcamp, and... well, this is rather alarming. I didn't even get any advance warning of this, and the only copy I have is the lossy version :(

     All the more reason to make sure you have copies of all your music, in case your favourite artists decide to jump ship.
