@evan I have a half-baked idea about platform co-ops being run on Mastodon servers (with selective contact with the rest of the Fediverse). Since they rarely if ever meet in person, having internal social media owned and operated by the co-op itself could be a next-best scenario to F2F interactions. And unless I'm mistaken, a certain degree of business logic could be integrated by means of ActivityPub extensions. Correct me if I'm wrong about that.

@ntnsndr Personally, I think it's great. But, it's an open question how much kids would like it. I don't think they hang out in the same spaces as their parents any more than they have to. It probably depends on the age.

@ntnsndr Technology in general should extend human capacities in transparent and clearly predictable ways. If we don't understand how a thing works, we should not assume it serves our purposes. This is the precautionary principle.
