   Debug this idea for me: A permissioned Mastodon server for kids and parents in a community.

   Goals:
   - Share plans for activities without parents having to text each other all the time
   - Be silly
   - Learn healthy social media norms under supervision

   Policies:
   - All messages (including direct) are auditable by parent admins
   - Collaboratively authored code of conduct

     @ntnsndr It seems like you're trying to do a Facebook group but on the Fediverse

     I asked the @bonfire devs if they were targeting the Facebook use case and I got a vague "yes?" so maybe that.

     @ntnsndr Personally, I think it's great. But, it's an open question how much kids would like it. I don't think they hang out in the same spaces as their parents any more than they have to. It probably depends on the age.

     @ntnsndr I'm also looking at Bonfire for this scenario, curious to hear if you found more examples of kids-focused social media self-hosting and the additional "caregiver" and moderation considerations - I think I've seen another mention of a non-federating mastodon instance for this, but coming up blank atm.
