The US Attorney’s Office in Minneapolis has charged fifteen people with “conspiracy to impede federal officers,” accusing them of defending their neighborhoods from ICE.

Working with anarchist artist NO BONZO, we've made a support poster to inform people about the case. Please print these out and post them everywhere!

This prosecution is a part of NSPM-7, the Trump administration’s initiative to turn the War on Terror against “antifa”—which is to say, against anyone who opposes fascism. The goal of these charges is to intimidate people out of standing up for each other. Make no mistake, this prosecution is directed at all who do not welcome authoritarianism. If it succeeds, they will repeat this strategy again, targeting more and more people.

In the face of fascist violence, the only route to safety is collective organizing. Solidarity is self-preservation. The harder it is for them to capture today’s targets, the longer it will take them to target the rest of us.

Today, ICE is working with police and courts to deport people—but the problem has always been the whole structure. ICE, police, and courts comprise a single integrated machinery of violence.

"The power of the police, as the power of the FBI, the courts, and the federal government, is rooted in violence. The fact that the violence does not always come into bloody play does not alter the fact that the power of the government is not the integrating power of love but the disintegrating power of guns and prisons."

    A Letter to Carlo Giuliani

On the 25-Year Anniversary of the Battle of Genoa

    https://crimethinc.com/CarloGiuliani

On July 20, 2001, at the peak of the movement against capitalist globalization, hundreds of thousands of people gathered in Genoa, Italy to oppose the summit of the world's eight most powerful governments—the G8. During the massive demonstrations that ensued, a police officer shot and killed a 23-year-old demonstrator named Carlo Giuliani.

A fellow participant in the battle of Genoa addresses Carlo from across the years.

The poet Juvenal wrote that the people of ancient Rome were bribed with bread and circuses to accept the end of democracy and the establishment of the dictatorship known as the Roman Empire. The tried-and-true playbook to accustom people to autocracy is to meet their material needs while channeling their attention towards activities that substitute for self-determination.

Donald Trump is trying to accomplish something more unusual: he aims to preside over the destruction of the last vestiges of the social safety net and the impoverishment of the middle class while buying off his support base with entertainment alone.

His administration has not bolstered the economy but further destabilized it, as if intentionally rendering people more precarious, desperate, and exploitable. In return for this, we are supposed to content ourselves with watching the violent reality television gameshow of his presidency.

    Less bread, more circuses.

The storming of the Bastille on this day in 1789 was essentially an anti-prison riot that won, spelling eventual doom for all monarchies.

When we topple the current ruling class and abolish borders, prisons, and police, people will celebrate for hundreds of years, too.

If a foreign army invaded this land, cut down the trees, poisoned the rivers, and forced children to grow up pledging allegiance to them, who wouldn’t take up arms against them? But when local executives and politicians do the same, patriots readily render their obedience, tax dollars, and children.

Those who are blinded by patriotism will even die to do to others what they would never wish anyone to do to them.

Gays, Crazies, and Motherfuckers: Anarchists in the Stonewall Uprising
Towards a Queer History of Riots and Affinity Group Organizing What can today’s rebels learn from the Stonewall riots? Why did the uprising have such an impact? To answer these questions, we explore the previously unacknowledged significance of anarchists in the rebellion and the movements that emerged from it. Along the way, we trace a queer genealogy of anarchist organizing methods in North America from the Stonewall Uprising to today. This is a massive, meticulously researched historical investigation. It’s a deep dive! We're offering a zine version so you can read it in print.

The sentences doled out in the Prairieland case today are horrific.

Des was sentenced to 30 years in prison for moving a box of zines.

There is no pretense of "justice" here. The judge said, “the state wants to send a message to anyone who shares a similar ideology.”

    https://crimethinc.com/prairieland

The Prairieland defendants will appeal their convictions, but the entire court system is rotten—especially in Texas. We must completely discredit the tyranny of ICE and Donald Trump, creating a situation in which anyone who succeeds Trump is compelled to pardon those who suffered under Trump.

This is a journalist from 60 minutes describing the lengths they went to in order to present Twin Cities protesters as violent. Nonetheless, CBS editor-in-chief Bari Weiss said the coverage didn't make the protesters look violent enough.

Note the double standard: "violence" for ICE is murdering people, "violence" for protesters is raising their voices.

The truth is that in any corporate media coverage of law enforcement, anything short of servile compliance will be framed as "violence." That's why we have to demystify the language of "violence" itself, rather than insisting on "non-violence." The latter will only result in more and more activities being designated "violent."

In 2025, Tesla gave Elon Musk a $132,298,849,867 paycheck for being CEO.

In Malaysia, a Tesla salesperson starts at less than $10,000 a year.

Does Elon Musk work 13,229,885 times harder?

A system that gives one person 13,229,885 times more power than another is arguably worse than monarchy.

Today is "Victory" day in Russia—the day that Vladimir Putin attempts to appropriate the Soviet victory over Hitler to legitimize his own despotic rule.

Putin has now been fighting Ukraine longer than the USSR fought the Nazis, and it's going much worse for him, despite Donald Trump's efforts to shift the balance of power in his favor.

Putin has systematically cracked down on dissent, torturing and imprisoning anarchists, feminists, and anti-war protesters. Putin's regime is one of the most repressive in the entire world. Hundreds of thousands of Russians and Ukrainians would still be alive if not for Putin's senseless invasion of Ukraine.

Those who make excuses for Putin are despicable enemies of freedom. We support Russian and Ukrainian anarchists, feminists, and anti-war protesters.

May every empire fall—and the empires of Trump and Putin soon!

What We Want for May Day

    https://crimethinc.com/MayDay2026

What do we want for May Day? In short, to take another step towards freedom from all forms of oppression—towards what we call anarchy, by which we mean egalitarian relationships based in self-determination, solidarity, and mutual aid. Anarchists have been central to May Day since its origins as a labor holiday in 1886, when police in Chicago attempted to suppress anarchist labor organizers who were fighting for right to the eight-hour workday.

Today, as intensifying authoritarianism propels more and more people into action, we have a window of opportunity to make real change. But what does a general strike look like in 21st-century capitalism?

We present some starting points and a handbill to promote them.

Trump has been rushed out of the White House correspondents’ dinner after reports of gunfire nearby.

Regardless of what really happened in Washington, DC tonight, the Trump administration will attempt to use this to call for more repression. Remember: anything you hear from anyone in the entire administration is likely a lie. That goes double for Kash Patel's FBI.

This is not the first time we have seen the Trump regime employ this tactic. They promote the gun industry, and then every time there is a shooting in their vicinity, they try to use it to seize control the way the Nazis used the Reichstag fire. Some Trump supporters have made this strategy explicit in precisely those words.

For background on how to prepare for repression:

Today, it has been three months since ICE agents brutally murdered Alex Pretti.

Federal officials rushed to spread blatant lies, claiming that Pretti had assaulted ICE agents even though widely available video showed this to be false. They had spread the same lies about Renee Good when ICE agent Jonathan Ross murdered her two weeks earlier.

It's impossible to overstate this: the Trump regime wants to be able to murder you with impunity and lie about why they did.

We honor the courage of the demonstrators who immediately responded to Pretti's murder. Let's create a world in which mercenaries can neither kidnap nor murder members of our communities.

26 years ago today, tens of thousands of people gathered in Washington, DC to mobilize against the meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank—and against global capitalism in general. It was a time of possibility.
