  As an example, this is what a modern day British Colony looks like.
  
  Their governor is literally appointed by the United Kingdom (see pic below). That's an actual Brit sent down to the Caribbean to act as a representative.
  
  This does NOT happen in autonomous and independent Commonwealth countries like Canada or Australia.
  
  Such Commonwealth countries have a governor general (similar name, but internally chosen...as a holler back to the prior colonial arrangement).

  I have been arguing that Canadian government is far more domestically controlled than one would believe, and that it is autonomous, subject only to the British monarchy ceremonially, as opposed to operating as a colony of the United Kingdom.

  That was my whole point in this thread.
  
  1. On the one hand, King Charles can "appoint" (choose) his own driver or any office in his United Kingdom.
  
  2. On the other hand, in the Canadian political context, the Monarch can "appoint" (approve) someone else's choice/recommendation - including that of the Prime Minister (selected by the people).
  
  Your conflation of the two is worrying, or assuming your audience would conflate the two is even more worrying.
  
  But if you want to fuel that narrative of USA is freer than Canada, there are certainly better ways.
  
  I just don't want you - or any other non-Canadian / non-Commonwealth citizen to misunderstand and/or misrepresent how Commonwealth governments work.
  
  And yes, for the record, I believe you do understand how they work, but I also believe you deceptively misdescribed our parliamentary democracies with your choice of words and references. Probably for humour and probably because you didn't think I would push back.

The Royal Assent has to be given to each Parliament when it is elected.
