  @Kirino @WandererUber @moomin From what I recall from genetics class, it’s not entirely wrong? I think the optimum distance is in the neighborhood of single-digit cousin relations, like 6-9th. You end up getting the best of your own greater genome w/ enough diversity.
  IRL experience has tended to prove that out to me, pretty much all my biggest problem-child friends were some kind of half-breed

It would make sense that there'd be a ton of 2nd, 3rd, and even 1st cousin marriages based on that number. It would also explain how distinct features become so common in a people group. You get your small natural migrations of stuff from war/conquest, travelers, and the fringes doing marriages across tribes or with foreigners, and that ultimately adds fresh genes to the mix here and there. It makes sense. Seems a bit awkward too.

  Tell me why they were able to domesticate and subspeciate foxes within a single human beings lifespan? They bred them based on selection of favorable traits. Inbreeding (because it's a small pool) concentrated those traits. If they continue this experiment and notice a major genetic flaw (e.g. heart failure at a young age), they will attempt to fix it by introducing new DNA into the group via selective breeding. Your beliefs on selection via genetic concentration and the lack of need for new genes are being disproven in real time. RIGHT NOW.

Features are seldom solo and you take ~50 genes in a group rather than a la carte selection. That's why breeding can often introduce breed specific challenges, like dogs prone to hip failure.

  Incorrect. Man was given dominion over all animals. Husbandry is included in that, as evidenced all the way back to the story of Cain and Abel, and also Job which is believed to be an older book than Genesis by written date IIRC. Gregor Mendel was an Augustinian Monk and Abbott who put heritability to paper for the West with his pea plant experiments. You can argue that something is less than ideal and should be avoided, but that is separate from the notion of its provability. Moving away from spontaneous trait generation is what genetics taught us. Look at the source data rather than assuming the data is bad. You'll notice genetics and heritability fields are AWFULLY quiet about anything tangential to HBD, which is no coincidence. They know what side their bread is buttered on.

It's why months back when there was a debate ocer "the ethics of TND", I took a hard stance against it and advocated for all Christians to do the same. The intrinsic value of human life is greater than that of the animal or plant. While I am strongly against animal cruelty and factory farming, I do not believe breeding animals to be more suitable for our benefit is ethically wrong even if it is questionable. We certainly skirt the line with chickens too heavy to stand up due to their enlarged breasts, but that is a separate issue more related to industrialized factory farming than pure functional husbandry.

The "bad" comes from if you have some imperfect stuff hiding in your recessives that you cannot see, unexpressed oftentimes. If you and your hypothetical sister both babe this, you have a 1/4 chance of having offspring with this trait. It could be something super rare in the normal world. This is the type of stuff that pops up commonly in groups like the Amish. Probably never was an issue when they weren't so genetically concentrated.

  I think I've demonstrated my capacity for this throughout the thread. Just because I've chosen to accept empiricism more than alt hypotheses does not mean I am scared or ignorant of them. I am enough of a natural contrarian to have examined all of my own beliefs and changes my mind fully throughout my adult life. I think it's more useful to have discernment for truth than to default to the negative on things my enemies also agree with; I do not have to assume the sky is not blue because ZOG and co. claim that it is.
