It would make sense that there'd be a ton of 2nd, 3rd, and even 1st cousin marriages based on that number. It would also explain how distinct features become so common in a people group. You get your small natural migrations of stuff from war/conquest, travelers, and the fringes doing marriages across tribes or with foreigners, and that ultimately adds fresh genes to the mix here and there. It makes sense. Seems a bit awkward too.
