@WandererUber @BowsacNoodle @Kirino @WashedOutGundamPilot @moomin The problem is not the need for new genes but that bad genes build up faster than new genes are created. A secluded village that never has visitors will face no competition so bad genes are allowed to fester.
in general out of every 100 mutations only 1 or 2 of them are good with the other 99 being bad. That why large populations are necessary to produce good genes. the genetic equivalent of throwing shit at the wall till something sticks
