Thank you! also your point is still 100% correct.
My mom is one of them.
The worst are the ones who try to play it off like "oh I don't know who I'm voting for, I'm undecided, they're both bad, etc, etc"
Like if you're gonna do it, just own it.
She also didnt vote for Obama because "The world isn't ready for a black man as president" and didnt vote for Hillary because "the world isnt ready for a woman as president"
@mekkaokereke @DoesntExist @jcrabapple @Tarah @corycarson fwiw, If its the same video I saw, that video was not endorsed by the Harris / Walz campaign.
@thegarbagebird @mekkaokereke @DoesntExist @jcrabapple @Tarah @corycarson
He quite literally said:
> There was a campaign stunt done by the Harris campaign, saying that women could hide their votes.
How else does one interpret that?
@thomasfuchs "how can I pick Shapiro without everyone getting mad that I pick Shapiro"
@laescude @LALegault @thomasfuchs @Wolven that was the hardest part of leaving Microsoft. I have 2 autistic children, one of which is non verbal. At the time they were both under the age of 6 and Microsoft's health insurance was so incredibly good I almost stayed even though I was miserable and my new job was offering $50k more base salary...
@thomasfuchs left MSFT almost a year ago after they swapped me from working on a design system I loved working on to working on death march AI bullshit. Full day meetings, demos every week, throwaway demo at end of week and pivot to learning some new tech and needing a new demo by the end of the week. probably the most miserable ~3 months of my time in tech.
@thomasfuchs Keep calm and benzo on?
@thomasfuchs a PM somewhere:
"I like it, but can we remove those ugly black bars?"
@polpo @thomasfuchs I actually really liked Atom when I first learned to code, it looked nicer and felt better than VSCode to me
@thomasfuchs https://github.com/features/codespaces
Atom was at least Electron (same as VSCode), but I believe codespaces uses the VSCode browser editor, so they didn't really "make it", so much as they use it for their own product
@thomasfuchs Atom or GitHub workspaces?
This felt too good not to share with the fellow "Anti JavaScript JavaScript Fan Club"

@thomasfuchs is that because it's all a load of shit?
@thomasfuchs @scottjenson something I've wondered is how much compute time it takes per request, and as the models get bigger, I imagine compute times get higher as well so the expense is always getting larger
@thomasfuchs I need these fonts in my life. Pixel fonts make me happy.
@emmah @mozilla I saw this the other day and just want to know who asked for this? It's obviously going to cost them money to "ai explain", this entire decision just baffles me.
@thomasfuchs I feel this. I remember spending summers as a 12 / 13 yr old playing Diablo 2 with my brother and his friends.
I used to play world of Warcraft with them up until WOTLK. I don't think gaming will ever capture me the same way again.
@thomasfuchs it’s literally all hands on deck for this effort right now and I hate it. I got pulled off a project I really enjoy to be part of a “we have this new AI thing now, let’s put it everywhere.”
Just a person doing web thingsHacking on Web Awesome while working at Font Awesome
